No trip to Clearwater County (p. 381) would be complete without some time spent at Itasca State Park. After visiting the wetlands and lakes in the northern portion of this long narrow Northeastern Region county searching for breeding birds – Ruffed Grouse, Alder Flycatcher, and several warbler species, we’ll end the trip with a 1/2 day drive along the Wilderness Drive in Itasca State Park.
